Dr. Eva Fletcher is the newly-elected President of the fictional Georgia A&M University. Upon arriving, Eva is charged with saving the prestigious HBCU from bankruptcy and her twenty-year marriage from crumbling while managing a tumultuous relationship with her rebellious only daughter. Many different birds and animals have long settled on the shores of Lake Chad. One day they decided to choose a king for themselves and chose Lion. When the Lion Cub could walk by himself, he met a hyena who told the Lion Cub that he was a Lion, which means he was the king of animals, which means he was the bravest, strongest, wisest, most beautiful.

A singer struggles to dance well in rehearsal with her band. A power outage leaves her alone in the studio, reviewing her life, when a mysterious woman appears through the mirror and gives her a pair of Red Shoes. The cursed shoes dance beautifully, but endlessly. The singer is drawn irresistibly into the fey world beyond the mirror, where she must redeem three magic symbols from the mysterious woman in order to obtain release from the cursed shoes.
